'Ahlan wa sahlan' means
'welcome' in Arabic and
goes to show the great
hospitality of the
Jordanian people. 'Ahlan
wa sahlan', you shall
hear it many times when
visiting Jordan. When
people are just making
friendly conversation
and welcome you to their
country or when they
offer you a nice cup of
mint-flavoured tea.
Jordan Experience
invites you to immerse
yourself in the
colourful traditions of
Arab culture, and at the
same time enjoy the
convenient life of the
modern metropolis.
Imagine how this will
be: taking a walk in the
tiny allies of the local
suq (market), drinking
some mint tea or smoking
a hubbly-bubbly (water
pipe) in one of the many
coffee houses.

Day-by-day program
Day 1 Arrival to Queen Alia International Airport, meet & assist with customs, transfer to your hotel in Amman, check-in, dinner and overnight. O/N: Amman. (D)
Day 2 Today you will visit Jordan's capital Amman and its nearby attractions. The Roman theatre dates from AD 151 and was built to seat 6,000 people. The theatre has been partially rebuilt and is again being used for performances.
The Haya Center is a heritage and science museum geared to children, with lots of 'hands-on' exhibits to try. In the Martyr's Memorial & Military Museum the military memorabilia from the Arab Revolt of 1916 to the present are being put on display.
You will also visit the Jordan Folklore Museum, the Jordan Museum of Popular Traditions, the Odeon, the souq and the Jordan National Gallery of Fine Arts. O/N: Amman. (B, D)
Day 3 This day will take you to the Eastern Desert. The Azraq Oasis lies in the heart of the Eastern Desert and provides a safe home for many migrating birds. In the nearby Shaumari Nature Reserve you can spot the Arabian oryx, ostriches and onagers. On this day we will also show you some of the finest examples of the desert castles built by the Ummayyad caliphs. Some are decorated with fine mosaics, frescos, stone and stucco carvings and illustrations.
You will visit Hammam Al-Sarah, Qusayr Amra, Qasr Al-Kharanna, Qasr Al-Hallabat and Qasr Al-Mushatta. O/N: Amman. (B, D)
Day 4 In the morning there will be a visit of Jerash, the best-preserved Roman town outside Italy and sometimes referred to as the Pompei of the East. The Jordan Valley is one of the most fertile places in the Middle East. Some of the world's oldest civilizations sprang from this soil. The area near Bethany, opposite Jericho has been identified for nearly two millennia as the area where Jesus Christ was baptized by John the Baptist.
In the Mujib Nature Reserve you may enjoy the magnificent biodiversity with some 420 species of plants and strikingly beautiful mountain goats. The Dead Sea is believed to be the site of five biblical cities. Today its eastern shore is sparsely populated and serenely quiet. O/N: Dead Sea. (B, D)
Day 5 Overlooking the Dead Sea you may find the cave where Lot and his two daughters fled to after God destructed Sodom and Gomorrah.
Approaching Karak you first pass through Wadi Mujib, a precipitous canyon, also known as the Grand Canyon of the Middle East. The most famous inhabitant of the castle at Karak was Reynald de Chatillon, whose reputation for treachery, betrayal and brutality is unsurpassed. The castle of Shobak is a lonely reminder of crusader glory. Despite the precautions of its builders the fortress fell to Saladin only 75 years after it was raised. In Dana Nature Reserve finally you pay a visit to the enchanting small medieval village that nestles at the foot of a cliff magnificently overlooking Wadi Dana. O/N: Petra. (B, D)
Day 6 Jordan abounds in archaeological riches, ranging from Neolithic ruins to the desert castles of the Ummayyad princes. Chief among these national treasures is the soul-stirring rose-red city of Petra. This day is entirely dedicated to this long-lost capital of the Nabatean empire, carved entirely by man out of the sandstone rock. You will see the Treasury, the Theatre and the Palace Tomb. O/N: Petra. (B, D)
Day 7 Today we will take you for a four-wheel drive in Jordan's most fabulous desert landscape. A visit to Wadi Rum is a journey to another world, a silent and timeless place where you will be dwarfed to insignificance.
In the empty desert of Wadi Rum you can dwell for days without meeting a soul, besides maybe a Bedouin family sitting in its goat's wool tent in the rose-red desert sand. Apart from that you are surrounded by sky-high cliffs only.
Jordan's only port Aqaba lies on the northern tip of the Red Sea. The waters of the Red Sea are crystal clear and have an abundant marine life. The Red Sea is home to more than 140 species of coral and countless species of brightly coloured fish. Aqaba offers a wide variety of opportunities to explore this amazing underwater world, such as scuba diving and snorkelling. O/N: Aqaba. (B, D)
